YouTube Music team is improving its music streaming app and the company is now focusing on the functionality of streaming audio to other devices. YouTube Music for Android is getting a redesign of its sheet-based cast menu.
The YouTube Music app gets a new casting interface
Currently, tapping the transmit button opens a “Transmit to” box in the center of the screen which, once playback has started, shows the cover art and information about the song, the volume control and finally the play/pause buttons and the one to stop the transmission.
The new casting interface slides across a sheet with rounded corners that shows a “Recommended” section at the top and an “Other Devices” section just below.
When playback begins, a much smaller preview appears and the selected device is shown immediately below with a volume slider, and lists of suggested devices and other nearby devices remain visible.
In the new interface there is no longer a button to stop broadcasting with playback continuing.
