According to the latest report, Samsung representatives said in a first-quarter earnings conference, its wafer fab in Tyler, Texas, USA is expected to start large-scale mass production in 2026.
The executive representative said that Samsung Electronics made the decision to build a semiconductor factory project in Tyler in response to market demand for advanced semiconductor production capacity and to contribute to the stability of the global supply chain.
Samsung will build a semiconductor industry cluster in Texas including two advanced logic foundries and an advanced packaging factory. The U.S. side will provide up to US$6.4 billion.
