Samsung 2024 model ‘Bespoke Refrigerator Family Hub Plus’ achieved the highest grade of ‘Diamond’ in the Internet of Things (IoT) security evaluation conducted by ‘UL Solutions’ for the first time in the global home appliance industry.
Bespoke refrigerator Family Hub Plus, which is scheduled to be launched globally in the first half of the year, has been applied with enhanced AI and IoT technologies such as ‘AI Vision Inside’, and has been confirmed to have security performance that strongly protects users’ personal information through this UL Solutions verification.
UL Solutions’ IoT security rating is divided into five levels from bronze to silver, gold, platinum, and diamond after rigorous testing on the hacking risk and security level of smart home appliances.
The highest grade, Diamond grade, can be obtained only after passing rigorous tests in items such as detection of malicious software tampering, prevention of illegal access attempts and anonymization of user data.
Samsung Electronics received UL Solutions verification for a total of four Bespoke refrigerator Family Hub Plus models being released in the U.S. market, and plans to expand verification acquisition to various product lines such as robot vacuum cleaners with AI technology in the future.
