Samsung Electronics Service is going to teach around 4,000 of their executives and employees at service centers across the country how to do first aid and CPR. They’re going to finish this training by October 20th.
Samsung Electronics Service started teaching first aid in 2019 and has been doing it every year since. They do this to help both their customers and their employees in case someone suddenly has a problem with their heart.
CPR is a special way to help someone who’s in trouble because their heart has stopped working. It gives oxygenated blood to their brain and gets their heart working again. When people do CPR on someone having a heart problem, it makes it 2 to 3 times more likely that the person will survive. If they also use a machine called an automatic external defibrillator (AED), the chance of survival goes up by more than 5 times.
Youngjun Choi, an engineer at the Euljiro Center who participated in the training, said, “I was able to gain confidence in providing relief in emergency situations through hands-on training with an automatic external defibrillator (AED).”
Seung-Woo Lee, an engineer at the Geoje Center and another training participant, said, “It was beneficial to practice CPR as it allowed me to learn how to keep my family safe as well as customers and colleagues.”
