Android 14 Beta Features
Customized lock screen clock
Several Pixel users are waiting for the customized lock screen clock feature from a long time and now it seems with the latest Android 14 version you will be able to customize it easily. As per the source, there are only two main options for customizing your clock: “Color” and “Size.”
Single-app screen recording
In Android 14 Screen recording is all set to get a new change. In the latest version, the Android screen recording dialog will include a new drop-down box allowing you to choose between “Record entire screen” and “Record a single app.”
Lock screen shortcuts
Currently the Pixel phone users are able to get two quick access shortcuts on the bottom-left and bottom-right corners of the lock screen, one for Google Home and one for Google Wallet. Now, in Android 14 there will be a new Google’s customizable lock screen shortcuts. Using a new “Shortcuts” option in Wallpaper & style, you can individually change the left and right buttons to one of a handful of options:
- None
- Video camera
- Mute
- Device controls
- Camera
- Do Not Disturb
Wallpaper & style redesign
Google in its latest Android 14 version brings two new core tabs for Wallpapers & Style. Yes, you read that right, now you will get Lock Screen and Home screen options to choose.
Minimized clipboard overlay
The source explains that if you have your on-screen keyboard open, the original overlay would appear above it, covering up what little space you had left. In the new design for Android 14, if you have your keyboard open, the clipboard overlay will initially appear in a “minimized” way.
Font size tile
In Android 14 Beta 1 there is a new “Font size” Quick Settings tile. You will be able to tap to increase/decrease the size of the on-screen text.
Until then, expect the company to keep adding more new features to the OS—and maybe even remove a few.
