Samsung is still contemplating a version of its Galaxy Watch with a built mini projector. That is substantially capable of casting information onto the hand. The same has been revealed by the published patent filing from the electronics giant.
Notably, it may recall a similar filing from Samsung back in 2016, that targeting on creating an externally projected keyboard. This time, the filing is being spied on by Wareable. While this filing discloses a smartwatch with “a projection display on a side portion of the housing and configured to display information on a display area adjacent to the housing.” And this could mirror the main screen that can be used in order to display other information.
And this would enable a demonstration of content in a “display area larger than the display area of a display module on a part of the body wearing a wearable,” as per the patent reads. Inside the filing, Samsung makes enabled way to more immersive content that less fits the confines of the smartwatch screen.
It stated the “projection display may display information that is different from the information displayed on the display module.”
Now, it clearly depicts that it could finally have a way to productively view videos sent via messaging apps. Besides, with an additional camera module, video calling would also be possible too.
Samsung mentioned: “According to an embodiment, the wearable electronic device may display various images. The image may include a still image and a moving image… such as broadcast content, multimedia content, and the like.”
Samsung explains the concept with the help of a diagram
With the help of the accompanying diagrams. Samsung disclose the projection duties will be handled by an arc of lenses and LEDs. That would allow the imagery to be communicated at various angles across the surface. While, in theory, it reflects a consistent, undistorted image of the hand.
Additionally, still seamlessly working on ways in order to incorporate this technology. Therefore, it is assumed that the giant is still keen to focus on the possibility of adding a projection unit to a forthcoming wearable.
