In Q2 2022, the Latin American smartphone shipments were down by 2.05% YOY, a total of 32.2 million units shipment has been done.
Somehow, Latin America’s Q2 figure overlaps the overall global year-on-year decline (-9%). The top shipment was done by Samsung (36%) – ranked first, Lenovo (22%), Xiaomi (17%), Apple (5%), and Transsion (4%).
“The second quarter deepened the trend of polarization, with both the sub-US$100 and US$500-plus price bands strengthening,” said Canalys Senior Analyst Damian Leyva-Cortes.

- Xiaomi – 5.3 million shipments – 17% market share
- Apple – 1.5 million shipments – 5% market share
- Transsion- 1.3 million shipments – 4% market share
- Other – 5.6 million shipments – 16% market share
The report also suggests that the overall Latin American region will see 0.8% growth in 2022 and 2.5% growth in 2023. So the region will become the only country to grow.
