Galaxy Time: Samsung developed solar system watch face with ESA

Samsung Galaxy Time

Samsung has officially confirmed the availability of the new solar system watch faces and it introduced the Galaxy Time for its smartwatches.

In collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), Samsung has developed a watch face for the Samsung Galaxy smartwatches that allows real-time data from our solar system to be accessed directly on the wrist.

“In this project, “Galaxy” really says it all. Together with ESA, one of the largest partners in space travel, we have developed a watch face that offers Samsung Galaxy users a new and unique way to explore our solar system,” says Mario Winter, Vice President Marketing at Samsung Electronics Germany. “With the scientific data provided by ESA to Samsung developers, Galaxy Time users will have the opportunity to effortlessly look beyond our home planet to the planetary neighborhood on their Samsung Galaxy Watch.”

With the Galaxy Time watch faces on the Samsung Galaxy Smartwatch, the individual rhythms of Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune can be experienced every second. Galaxy Time creates the opportunity for a change of perspective. “Planetary times make it possible to understand the relative nature of time and broaden horizons in everyday life,” says ESA scientist Dr. Melanie Heil.

Galaxy Time runs on all smartwatches with the Wear OS operating system. The watch face will be available from March 31, 2024 (Google Play Store).
