Samsung is now participating in the ‘2023 International IoT Home Appliance Robot Expo,’ held at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju from the 29th of June to the 1st of July.

At this expo, the South Korean, Samsung Electronics will present a sustainable daily life centred on ‘SmartThings’. The exhibition hall will feature ‘SmartThings Energy Saving,’ showcasing a range of Bespoke home products like refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners. These products will highlight various energy-saving technologies, encompassing both hardware and software components.

Another key highlight at the expo will be Samsung Electronics’ emphasis on energy leadership through their ‘Net Zero Home’ concept, which is built upon the foundation of SmartThings. In the ‘Net Zero Home,’ residents can leverage energy generated by solar panels while also monitoring and managing the energy consumption of their home appliances and overall household through the SmartThings platform.

Samsung’s SmartThings Energy plays a key role in empowering residents to succeed in Demand Response (DR) efforts. By automatically switching connected devices to AI saving mode or turning them off during peak power consumption hours in response to DR signals issued by power exchanges or local governments, SmartThings Energy helps minimize power usage.

Park Chan-woo, vice president of Samsung Electronics’ home appliance division, said, “Samsung Electronics’ Bespoke home appliances have presented solutions that enrich daily life and save energy by combining AI and IoT as well as product-specific technology. “We will focus on presenting a variety of sustainable solutions and allowing consumers to experience a valuable daily life .”
