According to the official information, Samsung Home Appliances Division has been certified for the international standard ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) Management System (ISO/IEC 42001)’ for the first time in Korea.
As per the official data, this certification generally known as Artificial Intelligence (AI) Management System (ISO/IEC 42001) focuses on assessing a company’s responsible approach towards managing risks associated with AI ethics and reliability in the development and provision of AI-based products and services.
The Korea Standards Association recently conducted an evaluation and certification process to ensure that AI-related security, fairness, transparency, and data/system quality were effectively addressed throughout the entire life cycle of AI home appliances and services.
Earlier, a diverse range of AI home appliances and services, including Samsung Electronics’ robot vacuum cleaners, washing machines, dryers, and dishwashers, were granted the ‘AI+ certification’. Additionally, the ‘AI reliability certification’ was awarded to robot vacuum cleaners and SmartThings home care services.
“Samsung Electronics applies strict standards before and after development to provide AI home appliances and services that consumers can trust and use,” said Yu Mi-young, vice president of Samsung Electronics’ home appliance division. “We will continue to apply fair and transparent AI. In addition to creating technology, we will strive to fulfill our responsibilities by considering the impact of AI technology on consumers’ daily lives and society.”
