Tipster confirms S23 Ultra 2x portrait camera samples are good

Samsung is rapidly working on the improvement of its flagship lineup. According to the latest report, the company will soon fix the HDR issues, and bring new camera features. Now, a reliable tipster IceUniverse has confirmed that the upcoming June 2023 Galaxy S23 Ultra firmware update will bring a great enhancement on the camera part.

Yes, you read that right, the Galaxy S23 Ultra users will soon get 2x Portrait mode in the camera app. The new mode was spotted by IceUniverse during a testing phase of unreleased firmware for the S23 Ultra. The tipster confirmed that the 2x portrait camera sample shot by S23 Ultra firmware was good.

The South Korean tech giant will use sensor zoom to get 50 MP crops out of the 200 MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor under the main lens of the phone. The resulting 50 MP image will be converted to 12 MP shots using pixel binning. Meanwhile, the update may arrive in 1.5GB size.
