WhatsApp is always keenly involved in inventing a lot of new features that we get from time to time in the form of updates. Most recently, the Meta-owned venture rolled out a new update via Google Beta Program that subsequently introduce version 2.23.10.19. While in this update, WhatsApp is working on broadcast channel conversation along with certain other 12 new features, that going to be available in the upcoming future update of the app.

Interface
As per the new beta update, the channels will acquire a full-width messaging interface in the conversation. Whereas, a much alike update is already available for community announcement groups. This has been reflected after installing the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.7.0.70 update from the TestFlight app.
Verification status
Now channels can be verified, and also marked with the green checkmark icon. Although, it will still need to await for an official WhatsApp FAQ in order to learn more about the verification process.
Number of followers
The indication with respect to the number of followers is there right under the channel name.
Mute notifications button
WhatsApp motive is to make better user control over notifications related to messages received from channels. Thus intended to achieve this, a mute shortcut will be accessible within the channel header.
Handles
Channels support handles, which are displayed in the channel info.
Real followers count
The exact number of people that are following a channel can be there on the channel info screen. Notably, this count brings the real representation of the channel’s followers, unlike the approximation mentioned earlier respectively.
Shortcuts
WhatsApp come up with three new shortcuts, to enhance the user experience. These shortcuts allow us to perform easy actions. This includes unfollowing, forwarding, and sharing a channel with other people.
Channel description
The channel description is there inside the channel info screen. While it allows channel creators to provide additional information and context to followers, including the purpose of the channel.
Mute notifications toggle
An extra toggle is provided to easily mute the channel.
Visibility status
A visibility status is shown by the channel. While it can be set to public, this allows anyone to discover it and view the shared content.
Privacy
Channels enable a secure and private space. It keeps your information private and protected.
Reporting
The option is useful when you come across any issues with a channel you follow. This enables you to report the particular channel. In case of violation of terms of services then it will be suspended, while the user will no longer able to follow it.
