Samsung is expected to launch the new foldable phones – Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 in August this year. Both the foldable phones have reportedly been discovered using Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which is also presently found in Samsung’s Galaxy S23 lineup.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 to arrive with the model number SM-F946U while the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will arrive with the model number SM-F731U. These are the devices’ US versions.
Recently, it was reported that Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone – Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be lighter and thinner. The South Korean tech giant is looking to launch these foldable in the second half of this year, with a weight of 250g. This will be 13g smaller than the Galaxy Z Fold 4 (263 grams), and is expected to be the lightest product among the Galaxy Z Fold series released so far.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 colors leaked
Now, according to Ross Young, the Z Flip 5 to launch in Beige, Gray, Light Green and Light Pink color options while the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will launch with Beige, Black and Light Blue color variants.
The company will also launch some bespoke and lower-volume colors. Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is currently testing quality tests. and the company will ship this upcoming foldable phone with a new hinge and reduced weight and thickness.
Previous rumours have suggested that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a 6.2-inch full-HD+ touchscreen with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a 23.1:9 aspect ratio. It is anticipated to measure 254g and have an IPX8 rating.
According to an earlier report, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will come in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage configurations. The same storage options as the current iteration should also be available for the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
As per a recent leak, the cover display of Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be 3.4-inch in size, making it bigger than other clamshell foldable phones available in the market.
