In February 2023 a number of Google applications like Drive, Docs, Slides, Gmail and Sheets were updated to Material You redesign. The look of buttons and dropdowns also gets a new design (web). As per the new changes, several line separators have been removed, while “My Drive” and other section headers are larger.
Google Files getting ready for Material You Design
The company is working on a Material You Design for Google Files. As per the image below (via Google_nws Telegram Channel), the new design gets dynamic colors on the page background. Components such as lists have been converted into containers with rounded corners, and the logo in the top bar has been replaced by the search bar that we are familiar with from other Google apps.
According to the latest information, the company is still testing more designs. However, the colors still need to be adjusted, and the system navbar does not match the color of the app’s navigation bar.
