Samsung to release OLED 77-inch TV and 49-inch monitor in Q1 2023

Samsung is expected to launch the new 77-inch OLED TV and a 49-inch OLED monitor in the first quarter of 2023. Samsung is looking to promote and sell its products with Samsung OLED name.

According to the latest report from The Elec, if the plan goes well, the South Korean tech giant Samsung will add three types of products to its portfolio including 77 inches to the existing 55 inches and 65 inches, and OLED monitors will become two types by adding 49 inches to the existing 34 inches. All panels use Samsung Display Quantum Dot (QD)-OLED.

The company is looking to ship more than 1.2 million OLED TVs this year. This is 2.5 times higher than last year’s OLED TV shipments of 450,000 units (aggregated by market researcher UBI Research). Last year, Samsung Electronics launched new 55-inch and 65-inch OLED TVs in the second quarter.

Just like the last Samsung brand, the company may use ‘QD’ for OLED TVs this year. This is not the official name we are just assuming. Samsung can use a brand derived from ‘QD’ only for OLED TVs to be released in Korea. This is because if OLED TVs are launched in Korea under the ‘Samsung OLED brand.

As demand for high-end monitors has recently increased, Samsung Display is estimated to have decided to produce 77-inch OLED TV panels and 49-inch OLED monitor panels together.
