Reliance Jio 5G is now available in 100 cities after 100 days of launch in India

India’s wide-reaching telecom network, Jio is now made available in 100 cities across the country. Notably, the telecom network has been able to manage this feat within the short span of just 100 days.  This would be achieved on the sideline of the network being rolled out in cities including Madurai, Salem, Hosur, Vellore, Coimbatore, and Tiruchirappalli. While reiterating its previous statement, Jio claims that the True 5G network will be spread across India by December 2023, covering every corner, including villages and towns. Jio’s 5G standalone SA services are now available across 23 states at the beta level.

While Jio is offering True 5G services in regard to its Welcome offer. Whereby it is inviting customers based on location availability. On the other hand, brands like Motorola, OnePlus, Apple, Samsung, and others are deliberately pushing their OTA updates that enable the 5G network.

Airtel 5G in 30 Indian cities

Apart from this, as per the update, Airtel mentioned that it launched the 5G Plus services in 30 cities. And has over 1 million users within a month by the time of the launch of its 5G network. Notably, this going to work in the non-standalone or NSA architecture.

“Airtel 5G Plus will be present across urban India by the end of the year as we continue to ramp up our deployment at a rapid pace,” an Airtel spokesperson said.

On the other hand, the competition between the two mammoths i.e, Airtel and Jio is escalating with respect to 5g. Both of them scale up their network by setting up large numbers of sites and towers across multiple locations. Notably, Reliance-backed Jio has set up approx 17,687 base stations as of November end, while Airtel had set up nearly 3,300.

As reported by a senior Airtel executive that the carrier was able to bring 5G services across a wide span of area. It is owing to the NSA architecture, and the same goes to work to the mid bands of 3.3-3.5GHz.

Meanwhile, Vodafone Idea is yet to reveal its 5G rollout in India. Whereas, state-run BSNL plans to launch 5G next year.
