Samsung Invites Startups to Strengthen Vision of Powering Digital India

It aims to boost its Digital India journey in the country. While strengthening its vision of Powering Digital India.

Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics company, and it inviting startups in order to collaborate on technologies. The startups around the government’s Digital India stack, which comprises UPI, Digilocker, Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), Open Credit Enablement Network (OCEN), and Unified Health Interface (UHI) among others.

Through this, it aims to boost its Digital India journey in the country. While strengthening its vision of Powering Digital India. Also, these startups will be associated with Samsung’s R&D centers and business units in India. It includes streams that integrate products and services with the Samsung ecosystem and the same involves wallet, health, and fitness.

Samsung helps Startups to scale up

Additionally, on an individual case basis. Samsung will also take part in funding support for a couple of these startups in order to scale them further. And to initiate its first step in connecting with startups in India. Samsung held a startup collab event at the iconic Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru initially this week.

To take part in this event, approx 25 startups from all over India came and interacted with Samsung leadership from its R&D centers in Bengaluru and Noida. Also, its corporate headquarter is in Gurugram, whereby they explore the Samsung ecosystem of product and services.

We wish to collaborate with startups who have cutting-edge technologies in this space, which, when integrated with the Samsung ecosystem, can transform the lives of people, our consumers,” said Dipesh Shah, Managing Director, Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore.

Co-prosperity is one of our core values and we hope to play our part in enhancing the innovation ecosystem in the country, thereby Powering Digital India,” said Dr. Balvinder Singh, Head, Open Innovation Group, Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore.

Participants’ startups are from Fintech, Health tech, and eCommerce domains

In addition to the info, the startups that attended Samsung’s Startup Collab event are from fintech, health tech, and eCommerce domains. As these are mainly involved in utilizing the India Stack to build Digital India services.

Furthermore, as a part of this collab, Samsung’s R&D centers and business units in India will be going to work together with the startups. This is intended in order to build solutions that are the potential to be integrated with Samsung’s product ecosystem.
