Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Development postponed until the next year (2023)

The company is planned to launch this tablet in three variants very similar to its predecessor, the Tab S8 series.

The impact of global economic crises is the primary reason why the demand for IT products has declined. This is speculated to be the reason for the postponed of Samsung’s next-generation flagship tablet, namely the Galaxy Tab S9.

As per the news, Samsung Electronics has delayed the development of the Galaxy Tab S9 series. This next-generation flagship tablet is planned to launch in December, now scheduled for next year. It is revealed that the company is plan to launch this tablet in three variants very similar to its predecessor, the Tab S8 series. While the same S8 series is launched in the first half of the year. That too consists of 3 models. Its standard model is a liquid crystal display (LCD) product. Coming next to the Plus model which is Organic light emitting diode (OLED) and the Ultra model respectively.

Reason for the delay

And since the development of the Galaxy Tab S9 series has been rescheduled till next year. It is interpreted that this decision has been made by Samsung Electronics due to the recent global economic uncertainty. We continuously receive the anticipated forecasting of slow down in IT products. One of the possible reasons is the global Covid-19 pandemic scenario, which is over now. The demand for IT products is reduced because of the contraction in consumer sentiments.

The Galaxy S9 comes under the company’s premium tablet, and the manufacturing of the same is pushed back. Notably, the OLED tablets and mini-light-emitting diode (LED) liquid crystal display (LCD) tablets are being categorised as premium products. Presently, Samsung Electronics is focusing on the premium market with its OLED tablet and Apple with its Mini LED tablet (iPad) series. Whereas, Samsung Electronics comes at 2nd in the premium tablet market, after Apple.

Also due to the global slow down and therefore the demand for IT products. And which resulted in the disruption of the shipment plans of the South Korean firm.

Production in numbers

To bring this into the highlight, the company has planned to produce 400,000 Ultra models, 900,000 Plus models, and 1200,000 basic models this year. This year’s plans also include the Tab S7 series, of which 100,000 standard models and 100,000 Plus models. While this also includes both in-house products and joint venture products, which are 336 million units respectively.
