Samsung unveiled that 10 million of its home appliances are now connected by the SmartThings platform

Recently, through an official newsroom post, Samsung unveiled that 10 million of its home appliances are now connected by the SmartThings platform. Notably, the Samsung SmartThings app makes enables the user to control compatible devices. It also concurrently set up various IF/THEN automated functions. This helps to easily manage all of the home appliances. The SmartThings app can connect and work with hundreds of compatible devices. It includes the devices like lights, cameras, voice assistants, washing machines, refrigerators, and air conditioners.

In addition to this, Samsung acquired SmartThings in 2014, and it was relaunched in 2018. Although, the former app was very core and at its basic phase. But over a period of time, Samsung has continuously added a wide variety of features to the smart home platform. And since then the number of connected home appliances is growing exponentially. It is predicted to cross the 12 million unit mark by the end of the current year. While the South Korean tech giant also estimates that it will be going to cross the 20 million mark by next year.

SmartThings enable users to link appliances from 13 brands by next year

The primary reason for an increase in the number of SmartThings connected appliances is the effective notification feature. As this feature notifies the owner when the operation going to end and in case of a fault in the appliance. Also, it offers remote control functionality which is all-time sustainable. This useful app also tends to receive various periodic software updates. And that enhances its functionality from time to time, by helping it to diagnose and manage products.

As mentioned and noted by the newsroom post, the home care service is the most adaptable feature in the summer. It is because the use of air conditioners has drastically increased and that’s due to ever-changing climatic changes. Even, the average number of monthly users from June to August of the current year becomes 1.5 times more than the average number of users from January to May of this year.

Simultaneously, the SmartThings Services also helps to track records and strategically maintain the amount of energy used. It is also one of the most versatile and attractive features of the app. While the use of the Samsung SmartThings app is not just limited to Samsung appliances only. And presently, it can be connected to more than 300 partner devices respectively.
