Tapping on which, one will immediately set the visual search tool to that capability. Whereas, you can also swipe in order to get a description of what each of its filters does.

Now, this proves to be faster than the previous default of Google Lens. Which is always used to open “Search” and then let users refine their query. To worth adding here, that this ability to launch Google Lens to a specific filter is rolled out on both Android and iOS today.

Although, Google is expected to launch new Lens features at Search in 2022 later this month. And previously teased visual searches that include the capabilities. This uses the Multitask Unified Model (MUM) and it allows for more complex questions. And it includes snapping a photo of broken bicycle gears and parallelly getting instructions on how to repair them. Meanwhile, “scene exploration” is also one of the features and was previewed at I/O held in May 2022. It lets you allow to search for what you’re currently seeing.
