Samsung plans to manufacture laptops in India from October 2023

The South Korean tech giant Samsung is looking to begin manufacturing laptops in India from October 2023. The manufacturing will reportedly take place at the same Greater Noida facility where it already produces smartphones.

The company is set to kickstart laptop manufacturing operations on a limited scale in India. The company aims to produce an estimated 60,000 to 70,000 laptops annually, although these figures pale in comparison to industry giants like HP, Dell, and Lenovo. Unfortunately, the report doesn’t reveal about the specifics of Samsung’s plans for expanding its laptop production capacity.

In terms of investment, Samsung is looking for a substantial sum ranging from Rs 100 crore to Rs 200 crore for its laptop manufacturing. It’s worth noting that, unlike its prominent presence in the smartphone market, Samsung doesn’t hold a significant share in the laptop domain and offers a rather limited range of laptop models.
