Meta avatars can now be used for video calls on Instagram and Messenger

Meta has officially announced that its avatars can now be used for video calls on Instagram and Messenger. This is a useful addition if people want to ignore faces in video calls. Now you can turn off the camera.

The process is the same, you just need to start a video call on Instagram or Messenger then select the avatar option and you are good to go. Also, it will work on group calls.

The company is introducing a new feature that allows users to utilize animated avatar stickers in various settings. These stickers can now be used in Facebook and Instagram Stories and Reels, Facebook comments, and 1:1 message threads on Messenger and Instagram. One more exciting feature is Social Stickers, which combines the avatars of you and your friends to express different emotions, such as giving each other a high-five.

Meta is also testing innovative methods for users to quickly create avatars. Users on WhatsApp and Facebook now have the ability to generate an avatar by taking a selfie.
