Samsung will start supporting the ISIC service through Samsung Pay

Samsung Electronics has officially announced its support for the mobile International Student Identity Card (ISIC) service through Samsung Pay. The ISIC has been a widely used international student identification card since its establishment in 1953, with over 100 million students benefiting from it worldwide. In Korea alone, around 56,000 students have received the card in the past 22 years.

As per the official information, while integrating the ISIC service into Samsung Pay, international student ID cardholders can avail themselves of student discounts at various establishments in 114 countries, including museums, accommodations, restaurants, shopping outlets, and railways affiliated with ISIC across the Americas, Europe, and Oceania.

The issuance process is simple. After updating Samsung Pay to the latest version, you can add your international student ID card to Samsung Pay by entering the customer identification number, which is the unique value of the international student ID card issued on the ISIC website, in the Mobile ID menu within the app.

This integration eliminates the hassle of separately managing a physical student ID and offers convenient portability. Additionally, the authenticity of the international student ID can be easily verified through a hologram animation displayed on the digital student ID.
