Users of the latest S23 lineup model are eagerly waiting for the new firmware. For your information, the 2x is a Portrait mode. This feature will allow users to zoom in and increase the level of background blur. This mode will use a 50MP crop from the 200MP main camera, which will then be brought down to 12MP.

Recently Ice has also shared the image sample of the 2X portrait mode which also claimed to be a better sample. Currently, the South Korean tech giant is internally testing a firmware update with a version WE9 for the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Apart from the 2x mode update, Samsung will also release an HDR fix-related update soon. To recall, Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 Ultra with a quad camera setup at the rear side consisting of a 200MP main camera, a 12MP wide-angle camera and a pair of 10MP telephoto cameras and offers 3x and 10x optical zoom.

Meanwhile, a recent leak of Galaxy S24 Ultra suggests that the upcoming 2024’s Samsung flagship smartphone also follows the same camera specifications as S23 Ultra.
