Samsung One UI Watch 5 Beta brings Wear OS watch migration to new phone without reset

Samsung has started rolling out the One UI Watch 5 Beta for eligible Galaxy Watches. The program is eligible for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 (Wear OS 3 Watches). The company will bring full feature access to the One UI Watch 5 on the upcoming Galaxy Watch 6.

Earlier, the Wear OS watches faces problems. Users cannot be able to transfer to new smartphones. The condition arrives in the reset condition and connected to the new phone. Now preventing this issue, users who running the One UI 5 Watch Beta have spotted an important feature in the latest One UI beta for Galaxy Watch 4 and 5.

If you live in South Korea or the US, you can join the beta program through the Samsung Members app.

Changing phones without resetting the clock is now finally possible

According to the screenshot below, “Transfer watch to new phone” is a new function, which is said to have only appeared after users switched to the latest One UI beta.

To continue, the Google account on the Watch and on the phone you want to connect must match. If you are signed in to a Samsung account on the new phone, that account will be used on the watch as well.
