Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 get a major upgrade of 3.7GHz Prime Core

As reported by multiple sources, Qualcomm is all set to introduce its next-gen flagship chipset. This is probably namely as Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and will debut late this year. Believe on the leaks and rumors, this present as a substantial step up in terms of performance over its predecessor, which is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 respectively.

Also, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, assigned a codenamed “SM8650” is forecasted to feature one prime Cortex-X4 CPU core clocked at an amazing 3.7GHz. This is paired with 5 performance and 2 efficiency cores. It tends to be a new 1+5+2 CPU architecture. On the other hand, the present ‘Snapdragon 8 Gen 2′ is based on the 1+4+3 setup.

Thus this 3.7 max frequency of the new chip is a major upgrade compared to the ‘3.36GHz’ of the present version. Whereas, the new chip is also forecasted to offer better graphical performance, alongside Adreno 750 GPU. Experts predict it to score approx 1.5 million points in the AnTuTu benchmark. And if that going to be true then certainly it’s a great deal of all time.

Additionally, the TSMC produced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 over its present version on the N4P node. This is still a 4nm process but with better efficiency. Whereas, the new processor node will seem to offer a 6% performance improvement with respect to N4. Probably, the TSMC could transit to the 3nm process node for the new chip. At the same time, it is also predicted that they are stuck with N4P. Since it is more affordable and easy to make.

MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9200+ is the direct Competitor

Apparently, the other information with respect to the new Qualcomm SoC is still not known. As far as the debut is concerned in smartphones then brands such as Xiaomi, OnePlus, Vivo, Motorola, and more are in the queue. As they soon bring their offering after the new chip becomes official. This could possibly release in November or December.

The new chip has direct competition with MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9200+, the same speculated to come next month. Although we still need to wait to see how these two compete head-to-head when they finally hit the shelves.
