Qualcomm’s Snapdragon GSR bring enhance experience for mobile gaming through DLSS

Over a couple of years, Gaming is one of the growing sectors. While not everyone has the best, and most supportive as well as powerful hardware to go for their favorite games. That’s somehow the reason why Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) was brought by Nvidia in its RTX 3000 series. While AMD succeeded suit by releasing a much like technology which is called FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). Meanwhile, now Qualcomm also come up with its own version of the technology for mobile devices. Whereas, Dubbed Snapdragon Game Super Resolution (GSR). It is a motive to upgrade game content and give users next-level performance.

Additionally, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon GSR is potentially upscaling 1080p gameplay to 4k. Even this doesn’t impact much on latency and battery life. It effectively makes use of the single-pass super-resolution technique. Whereby it combines upscaling and edge sharpening into one, thus improving the complete performance.

Highlighting below the advantages of Snapdragon GSR both for mobile games and XR devices:

Moving ahead, Snapdragon GSR is developed for Adreno GPUs. Also, the company demonstrates by giving examples that how it works on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, and Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 respectively. While, on the other hand, the company doesn’t reveal yet what SoCs we can expect to see come to. Notably, it’s the latest chip in the 7 Gen 1 series, therefore we also forecast to debut in the 7+ Gen 2.

The list of games expected to support Snapdragon GSR this year is below. XR products are also expected to launch with GSR later this year, too.
