History made: First voice call via satellite using Galaxy S22 Ultra

Stunningly, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has just made a historical record to become the first smartphone to be used for making a satellite voice call. This task is carried out in partnership between AST SpaceMobile and AT&T. The call has been made via a standard device without any modification. It was made in Texas to a phone in Japan.

AST SpaceMobile and AT&T’s partnership for satellite voice call 

Apparently, AST and AT&T perform this operation by using Galaxy S22 Ultra to make a call to BlueWalker 3 satellite. Also, once the call was received by the satellite, it was then rerouted to the phone in Japan. Notably, AT&T act as an intermediary spectrum. This is the primary factor that made the overall process work without requiring a smartphone capable of satellite calls. This also indicates that any smartphone having 4G LTE can theoretically work.

Another fascinating thing to get noted here is that this test proves that the BlueWalker 3 satellite is completely capable of handling cellular data speeds. To be specific, it means that any smartphone can use this technology without the need for of any the latest technology. While it also indicates that the Galaxy S22 Ultra would be used for this task, then a chances that the same test being done on other phones as well.

With more research on this application and its working. There are chances in the coming future that several regions being connected to each other using off-the-shell smartphones. Most people would have the misfortune to understand why there is a need for such technology at the first instant.
