Galaxy S24 base model to come with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage

Samsung Electronics is reportedly planning to come back with its own mobile application processor (AP) Exynos with Galaxy S24 Series. According to the latest report, Samsung is planning to bring Exynos 2400 on the Galaxy S24 series scheduled to be released in early 2024.

The company is looking to solve all the issues that were found on the Galaxy S22. The AP needs to be reduced by improving the hardware performance of Galaxy S24.

AP is a key component that determines the performance of a smartphone and serves as the brain of the smartphone. One chipset supports various functions such as CPU (Central Processing Unit), GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), and 5G communication chip.

To recall, the Galaxy S20 Ultra gets 12 GB RAM but on Galaxy S21 Samsung again brought 8GB RAM even in the Galaxy S23 Series. Now, according to the information, the Galaxy S24 smartphone is to debut with a base 12 GB RAM variant and 16 GB RAM for Galaxy S24 Ultra.

As per the storage information, the Galaxy S24 base model to start with 256GB built-in memory. The South Korean tech giant has already spent several billion won in 2022 on AP purchases alone. It increased by 49.9% compared to the cost of purchasing APs in 2021 (KRW 6,211.6 billion), as AP prices rose by 77% in one year.

An IT industry insider said, “Samsung Electronics’ increase in AP purchase cost was a factor in increasing raw material prices, but the weakening of AP negotiation power due to the absence of Exynos in the flagship model also seems to have had an impact.” In order to minimize the cost, there is no choice but to reduce the purchase cost by using the AP together.”
