Samsung 4-nm process yield is now close to TSMC, S24 Exynos 2400 core info revealed

According to the reliable Twitter tipster Revegnus, Samsung Electronics’ 4-nm process yield is now very close to that of TSMC which is currently leading in the market.

Tipster says Samsung Electronics’ yield recovery is faster than expected and TSMC’s 3-nm process yield is currently 63 per cent or less. Samsung Electronics is expected to have achieved a considerable yield improvement in its 4-nm process, in which TSMC’s yield is estimated at 80 percent or so.

For your information, Samsung Electronics is likely to have raised its 4-nm process yield from about 60 percent to at least 70 percent.

Galaxy S24 Exynos 2400 Report

As per the latest Trend Force report, the upcoming Galaxy S24 is likely to feature Samsung’s application processor (AP) ‘Exynos 2400’.  The Exynos 2400 will have a 10-core graphics processing unit (GPU) based on a 4nm (nanometer, 1nm is one billionth of a meter) ‘Low Power Performance’ (LPP) node.” (10 Core ARMv9 CPU + RDNA2 6WGP(12CU) GPU).

AP is a chip that acts as the brain that oversees the overall operation of the smartphone. Exynos, an AP currently being released by Samsung, has only been released until the 4-nano process-based ‘Exynos 2200’ in January of last year.
