Indeed read receipts are important messaging tools. As they enable to know the sender whether the message was delivered or not. Essentially, to know whether it was read or not. Ahead of this year, Google come up with icons in order to replace the words “delivered” and “read”. This relies on messages that were well well, delivered and read. While, it is worth noting that Android users, read receipt icons visible in RCS to RCS messages. It means that both parties should use the Google Messages app.

Thus, when a message has been sent, the sender will able to see a small circle with a single checkmark inside it. While two circles, in the case when the message is delivered along with a single checkmark inside side by side. Also, when it has been read by the recipient, then the two circles are filled. Whereas the checkmarks become white against a black background. Alternatively, as a part of the updation, these icons are now added to another location inside the Google Messages app.

Google sums up read count icons in the conversation list

As observed by one of the sources, read receipts icons are now added to the Google Messages conversation list. In this way, it depicts whether a message you just sent has been received and or read without having to open up the message. Also, as they demonstrate in those late-night television infomercials, “Wait, there’s more!”. Subsequently, Google also sums up read count icons in the conversation list at the right of each listing. While these icons comprise a number of unread messages with respect to a particular conversation.

Whereas, these updates are just a starting in order to make their path to Google Messages beta testers.
