Samsung Electronics and LG Display resumed negotiations to supply W-OLED TV panels

Samsung Display, a group affiliate of Samsung Electronics, withdrew from the liquid crystal display (LCD) business at the end of last year, and LG Display stopped operating LCD TV panel production lines in Korea at the end of last year. LG Display is making LCD TV panels at its LCD factory in Guangzhou, China, but cut its production capacity by half. From the standpoint of Samsung Electronics, its dependence on Chinese panel makers for LCD TV panels has grown.
