Samsung Galaxy S24 may use Exynos 2400

Samsung Electronics carry back its in-house Exynos, an application processor (AP) invented by the Korean giant to its Galaxy series of smartphones. The purpose is to expand Samsung Electronics’ share in the smartphone battle and simultaneously minimize the cost of Galaxy products.

As reported recently, Samsung Electronics plans to use Exynos 2200, an AP developed by itself, for the Galaxy S23 FE (Fan Edition) to be released in the second half of this year.

Notably, mobile APs are the crux that serves as the brains of smartphone and tablet PCs. The company has packed the Galaxy S series with the Exynos and Qualcomm-produced AP ‘Snapdragon’. Although, because of yield and heating issues with the Exynos 2200, when used in the flagship Galaxy S22. The S23, this year is packed with Qualcomm products only.

While Exynos’s low performance is not the only issue for Samsung Electronics’ System LSI division. The same led to the price burden of the MX division, which produces smartphones.

Although, parallelly, Samsung Electronics has freshly improvised the various criteria, it includes the yield of the Exynos 2200 through design changes. This is the point where it challenges of expanding its presence in the AP market again. And it resumes with the Galaxy S22 FE equipped with the Exynos 2300. This is predicted to release later this year.

Moving ahead, the Korean behemoth is substantially speeding up the development of the Exynos 2400. Its motive is to be housed with the Galaxy S24, which is expected to release by next year. Furthermore, it’s not only the flagships but the entry-level market characterized by the A series that also expands the Exynos lineup.

The recently unveiled Exynos 1380 is installed in the Galaxy A54, the top model of the new Galaxy A series. Although the Exynos 1380 is a mid-priced model, it is evaluated as having the performance of a premium AP. The lower model Exynos 1330 is also expected to be installed in the A14 series. This product is expected to be active in emerging markets such as India.
