Lately, it has been observed that Samsung Pay faces some errors, this is the simple payment service for Samsung Galaxy users. Now, this error creates inconvenience for customers.
“A software error occurred during an app update process,” Samsung Electronics said.
As reported by an industry insider on march 30, complaints about Samsung Pay being unable to run were posted by many users in online communities. This has been posted on the very same day across the country.
As said by a Galaxy user Jeong, “I use Samsung Pay instead of cash or a plastic credit card, but I am very embarrassed that I have not been able to make payments with Samsung Pay since this morning”.
Another user surnamed Kim, complained, saying “I tried Samsung Pay as usual, but I couldn’t pay my public transportation fare, so I had some trouble on my way to work.”
In response, the Samsung Pay Team announced in a notice on the same day,
“Intermittent delays in biometric authentication are occurring when trying to pay with Samsung Pay. We will do our best to take action as soon as possible.”
As per the Samsung Customer Center, an auto drag function is not responding due to a Samsung Pay error. While, Card authentication, pin number, and biometric errors also occurred. “A failure to connect to the server. Please try the service again later,” an error message said.
Experts say that this error could significantly erode the credibility of the app. Since it consistently trying to concrete its dominance with respect to simple payment competition. Especially after Apple Pay lately entered the Korean market. This Samsung Payment service on aggregate responsible for about 24 percent of the Korean simple payment market. Additionally, its have support for both the near field communication (NFC) method including the EMV contactless method, and the magnetic secure transmission (MST) method.
As Samsung electronics latterly found that some consumer terminals facing an error in the process of updating the Samsung Pay app. In order to upgrade, its functions become the root cause of the error. Whereas, the customers who encountered any error can rectify the problem by deleting and reinstalling the app, as revealed by the company.
