Samsung Electronics and Hana Financial Group together signed an agreement to increase the digital wallet experience. Both companies will bring activate mobile ID functions such as student and employee ID cards, establish overseas payment systems, and cooperate on future financial service models.
First, student IDs from high schools affiliated with Hana Financial Group will be available through Samsung Pay. According to the domestic stats, 108 high schools nationwide are affiliated with Hana Financial Group.
The Samsung Pay student ID can be used the same as the actual card, depending on the operation method of each school.
For example if you can use the school meals and library with the barcode of your physical student ID , you can use the same with the student ID issued through Samsung Pay through the barcode.
How to activate it?
First, update Samsung Pay to the latest version, you can add the student ID function by registering the Hana Financial Group debit card linked to your student ID card to Samsung Pay.
