Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae- yong officially visited the Samsung Electro-Mechanics plant located in Tianjin, China. He inspected the electronic parts production plant and held a meeting with executives and employees of Samsung affiliates working in the Tianjin area.

Despite the covid pandemic, Samsung Chairman Lee was unable to visit China. He visited a Samsung plant in China for about three years. Last time he visited Samsung Electronics’ Xi’an semiconductor plant in Shaanxi, China in May 2020.

In Tianjin, Chairman Lee Jae-yong checked the Samsung Electro-Mechanics Tianjin MLCC production line, which started operation in 2021 and encouraged field workers. It is the main production base supplying IT and automotive MLCCs to the global market along with the Busan plant.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics has been developing and producing MLCCs since 1988 and built MLCC 2 Plant in Tianjin in 2018 to respond to the rapidly growing automotive MLCC market along with the development of electric vehicles and autonomous driving technologies.

Chairman Lee Jae- yong visited the Busan plant of Samsung Electro-Mechanics in 2020 and 2022 to inspect the MLCC production site and ordered active responses to preoccupy future markets such as MLCC for electric vehicles.

Apart from the plant visit, he also met with expatriates from Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Samsung SDI in Tianjin.
