Update 2 – March 09, 2023: As per the reliable Twitter tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 external screen (cover display) is still 6.2 inches (same as the last generation model – Z Fold 4).

Update 1 – March 07, 2023: Samsung is reportedly started testing a new hinge design for its upcoming foldable phones – Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The company is expected to bring a new “waterdrop” hinge, flexes the screen inward rather than folding it at a small radius. As per the rumors, the new water hinge will have less crease on the display and no gap when the phone is folded.
Now, the new report confirms the model number of the fifth generation of Samsung foldable devices. Samsung is preparing these devices under model names SM-F731U (Z Flip 5), SM-F946U (Z Fold 5), and SM-F946W (Z Fold 5).
According to previous reports, the company may not use Chinese foldable panels for its upcoming “Galaxy Z Fold 5” smartphone. The company itself looking to make the panels for its upcoming foldable.
