Everything about Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5

This year also, the fifth generation foldable and flip device going to launch in August. And as per company official depicts, the making of its parts will start in May. Also, it is being revealed that the B5 and Q5 are the code name of the devices. B is the flip model, and Q is the fold. B5 and Q5 projects are in progress. Fifth-generation foldable Water drop hinges

A drop hinge is a type of hinge that can eliminate wrinkles. Therefore, When you look at the hinge side from the inside, there is not much difference. It hides the gap (with the hinge) that is not visible (with the case). When comes to last year’s Fold 4, then that is also slightly apart (folded). And with the application of a water drop hinge, it is closely folded. While inside, the hinges bend in the form of droplets. Since Chinese smartphone makers are now applying water drop hinges to foldable phones. Notably, Motorola is one that has applied to the laser before.

As disclosed the reason why Samsung Electronics did not use this method is that there may be problems with the durability of the product. And because of the gaps, the foldable series is also waterproof, which can cause problems. But in order to reduce the weight of the product, The company plans to make changes on the hinge side.

Digitizer issues should also be considered in the upcoming foldable

As per the company member, in the case of Fold 3 and Fold 4. The PCB that recognizes the S Pen when unfolded is the digitizer. The same installed one on each side. While, the center one is floating, and it is also perceived as software. So, if a droplet-shaped hinge is applied, the area of UTG where the product is folded becomes wider. Then, the PCB (digitizer) is not supported on that side (the part that floats in the center). The central area that must be recognized by the software is widened. So it will be able to support S Pen recognition at the same level as existing products.

Samsung will make the hinge themselves

Moving ahead, as per the source, Samsung Electronics designs the hinge and KH Vatech assembles it. While the Chinese smartphone makers procure hinges through an American company called Amphenol. At the same time,  Samsung could make the hinge themselves or outsource it. And this time, it is more likely that they will make it themselves. Therefore, if this will be the case then the company were able to make changes in the required areas. That subsequently helps in order to reduce the weight of the product.

The revelation about Apple foldable products

It is being said that from Apple’s point of view, iPhones are selling well. Therefore if they release a foldable iPhone, there may be a mutual market encroachment with existing iPhones. So there are vibes of launching products on the iPad rather than the iPhone, or something similar to that. I don’t think it’s exactly an iPad. it’s about the iPad, so it’s expected to launch that product in 2025 or so.
