Samsung promises to fix 990 Pro SSD health drop issue via new update

On February 07, 2023, Samsung confirmed that the company will soon launch a new firmware to solve the health problems of the 990 Pro. The latest 5B2QGXA7 firmware for the 980 Pro SSD solid-state drive to fix problems such as locking to read-only mode and more.

Samsung 990 PRO is the latest flagship consumer-grade SSD from the South Korean tech giant and it is priced at 1TB 999 yuan for 1TB, and 2199 yuan for 2TB.

According to the Neowin report, the user faced issues with the 990 PRO and experienced a problem of health declining too quickly a few days after he bought it, and Samsung officials refused to guarantee it. Other publishers also stated the same issue.

Samsung officials have confirmed that the issue has been reproduced in internal testing, and the company promises to fix it with a firmware update.
