Samsung reveals grandparents in the UK turning to Gaming with young generation

The research brings the facts, the trend of grandparents' love towards gaming emerged in the last couple of years.

Many of us tend to learn new skills as we just start the year, while new research reveals that we’re a nation of grandparent gamers. Recently Samsung has interviewed over 65 years old’s in the UK. Who are interested in gaming or those who have already taken the jump into gaming. This result shows that four out of five (85%) game at least once a week, while more than one-third (36%) gaming every day.

Additionally, the research brings the facts that  Samsung Electronics reveals, this trend of grandparents’ love towards gaming emerged in the last couple of years. It also found that almost a fifth (19%) grasp the hobby during the pandemic and still continue it. Approx third (32%) of those surveyed revealed that they not understanding the technology. And needing someone to explain it. While 31% want to hold it back, whereas approx 29% disclose that they don’t have the right equipment to use.

The TikTok opens with Gee Nelly playing an Xbox game. As she recently discovered, Sea of Thieves, on a Galaxy Z Fold4. It gives posses a mega 7.6-inch display before acquiring the grips with the game by using Odyssey Ark. A 55” rotating display monitor. Also, while exploring the journey of Sea of Thieves with Grandad Frank introduced the whole new world of virtual gaming. This experience achieves through their shared gaming journey. At the same time, Grandad Frank also reveals that he’ll certainly have to pick up gaming with the help of his children and grandchildren.

Grandad Frank said: “It was during the pandemic that I started creating videos on TikTok with my granddaughter, Kiera, and since then we’ve been closer than ever. Embracing the digital world, with the help of my family, has been so much fun over the last few years and has certainly kept us all laughing.

That’s why I’ve teamed up with Samsung to help other older people out there get online, whether it’s playing a video game with your grandchildren or doing a silly TikTok dance. You’ll be amazed by the connection it can bring – I feel like I’m having a second childhood!”

Apparently, the study also revealed that, while around half 51% of grandparents who already gaming or are interested in gaming, like to play by themselves. Many o them already play or prefer to play in the future with their family members.
