As per the changelog, the all-new firmware update brings the camera controller app and soon you will be able to zoom in and out with your phone’s camera – from your watch. That is a useful addition to the app that can be found on your Watch 5 by default and the latest feature will be available on the One UI 5.1 version.

Samsung will unveil the One UI 5.1 version during the Galaxy S23 Series Unpacked event. The company will launch the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra alongside the new laptops.

New diagnostic functions and the latest patch

Apart from the new camera zoom feature, the latest software update for the Galaxy Watch 5 also brings Diagnose function which you call up via the Samsung Members app on your phone.

If your watch is connected, it will appear on the screen, so that you can immediately check whether all the functions and sensors of your Watch are working properly.

For this you still have to install an extra piece of software via Samsung Members -> Support -> Diagnose connected device -> Galaxy Watch 5 (Pro).
