Update 2- January 25, 2023: The latest January 2023 security software update for the carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with firmware version G98xUSQS3GWA2 in the US. It is currently rolling via Metro PCS and T-Mobile networks.
Update 1- January 13, 2023: Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, and the Galaxy S20 series have recently received the January 2023 update. Now, the latest update is rolling out in the Netherlands. As per the changelog, the Galaxy S20 is getting the January 2023 update in the Netherlands and Belgium with the firmware version G98xxXXSFGWA7.
According to the Samsung document, the latest patch update includes 50 fixes for the security of the Android OS. There are 20 improvements to Samsung’s software, including Wi-Fi and NFC, Knox, the Secure Folder, and Phone.
The all-new update can be downloaded on your S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra variants. You can check for the update manually by heading to Settings » Software update and clicking on Download and install.
Meanwhile, Samsung has started testing the One UI 5.1 update in the Galaxy S20 lineup. The company may announce this new version during the Unpacked 2023 event where Samsung will launch the Galaxy S23 Series.
