Qualcomm is looking to compete with Apple’s M-Series chip. Reportedly, Qualcomm is working on a new processor under the codename Hamoa. As per the latest report, the company will launch it with a name -Snapdragon 8cx Gen4.
Now, ahead of the official debut, the core specifications for the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 has been surfaced. Accoridng to the Twitter tipster, Kuba Wojciechowski, the upcoming chip will offer the best performance and is said to arrive with eight performance cores and four power-efficient ones.
He also mentioned that each block of four cores has a shared L2 cache of 12MB and an L3 cache of 8 MB. Since the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 is rumored to have the same Adreno 740 graphics processor as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Qualcomm is reportedly not creating a new GPU for it.
Meanwhile, Samsung is all set to launch the S23 lineup with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform. This custom chipset runs at a higher CPU clock speed of 3.36GHz — up from the 3.2GHz CPU clock speed of the base version of the SoC silicon.
