Android 14 to measure distance between two devices, check customizable clocks concept

Google is reportedly working on a new API for Bluetooth-connected device measurement. Esper’s Mishaal Rahman discovered the new Bluetooth distance measurement API, and the Pixel phone marker Google (Android) has added its code to AOSP.

For now, the exact measurement distance accuracy is not precise. The report says the new Bluetooth distance measurement API will tell the approximate location. Also, the new API in Android 14 will use Bluetooth RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) to measure the distance between the phone and the connected device.

Meanwhile, it will be totally different from Apple’s AirTag tracker. Unfortunately, you have to wait until Android 14 goes official.

Apart from the above API, one Twitter user uncreativetom has shared the concept of customizable clocks on Android 14.
