Last year, Samsung released a statement and declared that it’s focusing on the development of its 16-gigabit (Gb) DDR5 DRAM built using the industry’s first 12-nanometer (nm)-class process technology. The company also stated that it completed the product evaluation for compatibility with AMD.
Now, according to the new report, the South Korean tech giant Samsung has separately developed a EUV film with a light transmittance as high as 88%, which will help diversify and stabilize the supply chain. Samsung is the first in the industry to successfully apply EUV processing to DRAM production through manufacturing and the company has already been mass-producing specific EUV-applied products.

Back in 2021, Samsung Electronics announced its self-developed EUV film Foundry Forum last year. At that time, the company had developed 82% light transmittance film technology, and announced that they would have 88% light transmittance by 2022.
