Google converted its efforts into some major changes to Android 12L which is now in use. Including a new split-screen layout for tablets, the update brought several changes especially to improve multitasking. It has introduced an updated transient taskbar interface with the recently released Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update.

In order to create better use of the extra screen real estate and a new taskbar for improved multitasking Google unfurl a new split-screen layout for tablets. To bring further availability Google is now working on improving the taskbar experience.

Google has made the default to the transient taskbar in the latest beta release was previously spotted in Android 13 QPR2 Beta 1.

As part of the update, the new taskbar appears as a floating pill-shaped tray instead of a bar at the bottom of the screen. It automatically hides after a few seconds as its name suggests. But can bring it back in any app with a short swipe-up gesture.

Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 also brings Unicode 15 Emoji support. The update blowing some more hints about a few upcoming features, like the ability to seamlessly transfer eSIM profiles to a new phone and automatically themed icons in the Pixel Launcher.
