At CES 2023 Samsung shares a more sustainable future vision

At CES 2023, Samsung Electronics along with its key partners shared its future vision and cutting-edge technologies.

CES is the most influential tech event in the world. Where tech companies showcase their advanced and latest innovations. While speaking at a press conference at CES 2023, Samsung Electronics along with its key partners shared its future vision and cutting-edge technologies that help to enhance the lives of users by providing a smarter, more connected, and intuitive experience.

Jong-Hee Han, Vice Chairman, CEO, and Head of the Device eXperience Division at Samsung Electronics. Jong inaugurate the company’s presence at CES 2023 by highlighting Samsung’s plans in order to bring a connected, personal and sustainable experience. To achieve this, they focus on consistently connecting devices(SmartThings) and designing products, which make encourages the use of technology.

Samsung Incorporates Sustainability at Every Level

In order to address ongoing challenges that our planet faces, Samsung continuously highlights to align the environmental issues through a combination of sustainability targets, innovative products, and strategic partnerships. Therefore by 2050, all Samsung businesses will fulfill their electricity needs with renewable energy, and thereby achieve net zero carbon emission.

“By building sustainability into the product experience, we, and the many people around the world who use our products, can contribute to a healthier planet,” said Inhee Chung, Vice President of Corporate Sustainability Center at Samsung. “As a result, some of our most popular products are now some of our most sustainable.”

Samsung announced that many of its products including TVs and smartphones use recycled materials. It includes reprocessing recycled plastic from waste fishing nets. On the other hand, its home appliances, memory, and 5G radio network chipsets are contributes to energy savings for customers. While their SmartThings Energy and AI Energy Mode made it possible for consumers to save energy and cost-cutting with less impact on the environment.

Vincent Stanley, Director of Philosophy at Patagonia, while spoking at a press conference with respect to two companies has developed a new wash technology called the Less Microfiber Cycle. This has been utilized in Samsung washing machines, this reduces microplastic release by 54%.

On the other hand, James Kwon, Product Manager, ENERGY STAR for Consumer Electronics at the US Environmental Protection Agency announced that Samsung’s connected home experience with SmartThings is the first to acquire a mass market Home Energy Management System. While they are consistently collaborating to lower the effect of carbon from multiple sources.

A Connected Home and Connected Life Built on Convenience

Moving further, during the company’s press conference, Jaeyeon Jung, Executive Vice President and Head of SmartThings, discuss how their SmartThings feature Home Monitor and SmartThings Pet Care enable comfort with its monitoring and sharing alerts for anything that happens out of the usual.

Samsung also reveals its commitment to its association philosophy. Since SmartThings was one of the first brands to adopt Matter. Also, Samsung is a founding member of the Home Connectivity Alliance.

The motive for connected experience has expanded to collaborate with new partners. It is associated with Philips Hue. Jasper Vervoort, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Philips Hue. This is intended to discuss a new way to syn the content from Samsung TVs with Philips Hue lighting. The app of the same can be downloaded from the app store on Samsung TVs.

In offering to provide a more connected experience than ever before, Samsung also revealed how security and privacy innovations will act as a key to making connected device ecosystems. The company Knox Matrix will seamlessly and safely sync credentials across multiple devices by parallelly protecting confidential information.

A Vision for the Future

Meanwhile, the company also demonstrates next-generation innovations and technologies by using the latest AI. The South Korean tech giant also gave a preview of Relumino Mode. This is one of the greatest innovations that will come to 2023 Samsung Neo QLED 8K and 4K TVs. It allows content viewing possible for vision impairment people. This mode highlights outlines and enhances contrast and color, to make the content clearer and easier to enjoy. The company also displayed a new pair of Relumino glasses, this was first debuted at CES 2018 respectively.
