CES 2023: Samsung Showcases Connected Experience for a Better Future

Samsung has ‘Bringing Calm to Our Connected World’ something additive like icing on the cake for its ‘CES 2023’ presentation, which will be going to be held in Las Vegas from the 5th to the 8th (local time)….!! 

Samsung Electronics prepared an exhibition hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center with a scale of 3,368㎡ (approximately 1,019 pyeong). In order to more effectively experience the differentiated technology of SmartThings, the entire exhibition hall is not just a simple product display, but Sustainability, Home Security, Family Care, Health&Wellness, Entertainment ( Entertainment), and, Smart Work.

From the 2023 Neo QLED 8K to the new Family Hub, various bespoke home appliances, Galaxy Z Fold 4/Flip 4, mobile devices such as the Galaxy Watch, and smart monitors, Samsung Electronics products and partner products were connected to create various scenarios.

Demonstrate efforts for a sustainable future based on innovative technologies

Samsung manage to build the Sustainability Zone based on the new environmental management strategy announced last September upon entering the booth after passing through the large façade. Samsung’s will and promise to act on climate change, efforts for resource circulation, and creation of an eco-friendly technology ecosystem have come out through the Neo QLED 8K, lifestyle TVs ‘The Frame’ and ‘The Serif’.

Particularly, this exhibition will introduce for the first time a ‘large-capacity integrated greenhouse gas treatment facility RCS (Regenerative Catalytic System)’ that can safely treat process gases used in semiconductor manufacturing. It is the first and only one in the semiconductor industry to use RCS.

Samsung has a famous eco-friendly home appliances lineup that plays its job in the most effective way. Washing machines that reduce microplastics developed in collaboration with Patagonia, ‘Net Zero Home’. Samsung Electronics plans to provide a differentiated integrated connection experience that introduces three core platforms through the ‘SmartThing Wall’.

The three core platforms are ‘SmartThings’, an integrated connected experience brand that connects products to products ‘Samsung Knox‘. A security solution that safely manages users’ personal information and provides AI intelligence services beyond voice recognition it’s ‘Bixby’ assistant. From March, you will get notifications when a human form is recognized in an empty house through the ‘home monitoring’ function of the robot vacuum cleaner ‘Bespoke Jet Bot AI’. In addition to checking the inside of the house through the camera attached to the TV, it is also possible to receive information on flood and fire situations using leak detection sensors and smoke detection sensors.

You can check out the experience of protecting elderly parents or companion animals while going out at the Family Care Zone. The TV’s built-in microphone recognizes the sound and detects the parents’ emergency situation and calls the child’s smartphone, and the child can immediately check the parent’s situation through the TV camera.

Additionally, a cat recognition function is also added to the Bespoke Jet Bot AI, and if a companion animal such as a cat or dog leaves the house through an open door, an access notification is received and the current location can be found. If you link your Samsung account, you can enjoy content without interruption in and out of the house across multiple devices. You can enjoy easily and quickly the ‘Samsung TV Plus’ on various Samsung products such as TV, mobile, and Family Hub.

Collaborating with Philips Hue Samsung introduces ‘Game & Video Sync’ and ‘Music Sync’ experiences that provide a more immersive experience.

You can also check out the ‘Ready Tune’ function, which helps the driver feel comfortable driving by providing Harman’s excellent acoustic experience by easily activating the sound management software built into the vehicle.

If you use the ‘Easy Connection’ solution, you can automatically and quickly connect without the cumbersome procedure required for a remote PC connection. With the Samsung Smart Monitor, you can remotely access the Galaxy Book 2 in the office and continue your work.

You can increase your work productivity by using the video calling app Google Meet or the Link To Window feature. Based on close partnerships with Google and Microsoft, you can also experience a smart work environment using Galaxy devices and various Samsung Electronics products.

Unlimited expansion of SmartThings ecosystem through Matter-HCA partnership

In order to expand the SmartThings ecosystem Samsung introduces the ‘Ecosystem Wall’ at the end of the exhibition hall, providing differentiated benefits to both consumers and partners. SmartThings currently supports about 3,000 products from about 300 partners, and in particular, it plans to dramatically expand users’ device choice and usability by supporting Matter and HCA (Home Connectivity Alliance) standards.

On the ecosystem wall, 200 products from 27 companies support Matter standards, such as smart light bulbs, smart switches, and door locks. And even products from 15 HCA member companies are expressed in real or digital content in the exhibition space.

The C Lab exhibition hall, set in Eureka Park, is a startup exhibition hall, separate from the Las Vegas Convention Center. It has 4 outstanding tasks from ‘C Lab Inside‘, an in-house venture program for employees. And 8 startups nurtured through ‘C Lab Outside’, an external startup program, taking place together there with the same omen.
