Eventually, there’s a growing number of Android Auto users, who have noticed that Google Assistant is at least partially broken after getting the update to Android 13.
For over a couple of months, Android Auto has been rolling out to numerous Android devices at a very fast pace. By that time, Google pushed off the things to its flagship Pixel phones. Samsung has been leading the opportunity, as they start to provide dozens of updates that seem to acquire in their flagship phones and more affordable alike devices. On the other hand, OnePlus and other brands tend to push the update ahead.

On the other hand, using a manual button in order to trigger Assistant seems to be working for some people. But for the rest of the people, it still won’t process any commands.

Also, the issue pertaining has been reported on a Google support thread for users on multiple Android phones from different brands. It includes Sony, Samsung, and Pixel phones too. While for the others, the issue doesn’t appear until the arrival of Android 13. At the same time, there’s a probability that the reported issue is caused by a Google app update as well. As some Pixel devices are hampered despite having Android 13 for some time now. Notably, some users on Reddit noticed the problem after installing Android Auto 8.5.6.
Another issue that seems to possibly be related is some users. Reporting, it suddenly isn’t reading messages out loud. There are very few reports of this issue so far, but it’s another issue that has cropped up from time to time in the past.
