Galaxy Z Fold 3 screen cracked in just one year of use, user files lawsuit against Samsung

According to the information, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 user Antonio Lewis has recently filed a class action lawsuit against Samsung. The reason behind this lawsuit is the Galaxy Z Fold 3 folding promise did not meet Samsung’s official promotional durability.

Samsung said in its official promotion that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 can be folded and unfolded 200,000 times, which is equivalent to 5 years of use.

Now it seems this promise is not satisfying the users of its third-generation of the foldable phone. But the reality is that the Z Fold 3 screen has a high failure rate, mainly due to cracks in the folding part and its extension.

The lawsuit claims that the screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is very vulnerable to damage, and tiny particles will enter through the gap in the hinge part, forming bubbles where the screen folds.

Samsung’s testing environment does not include real-world applications that expose the phone to environmental elements such as temperature fluctuations, dust, sweat, water, and normal day-to-day handling of the device, all of which can affect durability and the functionality of the hinge, the lawsuit says.

The user of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 who claimed the lawsuit claimed that Samsung denied repairing as he contacted Samsung’s after-sales service, but the official answer is that the screen is not within the scope of repair.

The class-action lawsuit alleges that Samsung used “unfair, misleading and deceptive statements, omissions and conduct” in marketing the Samsung Z fold 3 phones.
